Aspirations
Where people come first
At Aspirations, we provide personalised support that leads to positive outcomes for adults who need our help most. Our goal is clear; to give those who need our support, the confidence, encouragement and independence they need enabling them to work towards a future they deserve. We deliver support from regional offices based across the country – covering the North West, Midlands, South East, South West and London (inc Hertfordshire).
We believe that every person we support has the right to lead active and fulfilling lives, meaningfully participating alongside others in their community.
Aspirations are skilled in providing person centred, outcome based support for vulnerable people. We believe that individuals have the right to lead active and fulfilling lives, participating within their community.
We can either provide this support in peoples own home or in properties which we can help source, alongside trusted housing providers to secure individuals their own tenancy.
Individuals are helped to maximise their abilities and opportunities to improve their quality of life. Each person is also encouraged to work towards increasing their independence in their local community.
The people we support may need support for various reasons:
Listening and acting on what the people we support say about us is fundamental to the way we support them.
My life, my support
When I have my key worker session with my support worker, she is very helpful and supportive. She gives me good advice and listens to me a lot.
No matter which plan of support we follow to help the people we support, all the Aspirations team are trained to observe potential triggers, create clear channels of communication and promote consistency that develops positive outcomes.
Our core experience is in supporting people to move from highly supported environments (such as hospitals, secure settings and residential placements) into their own homes. To do that, we provide personalised, outcome-focused support designed to overcome individual challenges.
Autism is a lifelong neuro-developmental condition that affects each individual person differently. Aspirations is committed to understanding the individual and their autism before putting in place the right support to help that person thrive as they strive for independence and purpose.
At Aspirations we are dedicated to supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs to move into their own homes – no matter how complex their needs and challenges. Everything we do is underpinned by our ‘own home not hospitals’ ethos.
We offer supported living and community support. Working closely with housing providers, we find suitable, good quality housing. We provide personalised support helping to give individuals the best possible chance of taking control of their mental health – and their future.
Journey to go here
We begin at the beginning
The transition into supported living is not always easy. It is important we meet and get to know the individual as well as it being helpful to have insight into their history. That is why it’s essential we work with each person to understand their needs and develop their own support plans.
To be able to provide the support needed, it is important that the staff team have access to appropriate learning and development. This includes training and coaching in Positive Behaviour Support to ensure that staff are equipped to provide safe and effective support in the least restrictive way.
How we focus on the positive
There are occasions when physical interventions are required to ensure everyone stays safe in a crisis. CPI’s suite of Learning & Development Programmes ensures the approaches we use reduce the risks to everyone. They focus on alternatives such as redirection and adopting the least restrictive intervention.
Aspirations has a continued commitment to embed the principles of Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) into everyday practice and we have worked with CPI on the inception of licenced trainers. PBS helps us to understand the function of a person’s behaviour and what maintains it. The support we provide aims to increase the individual’s quality of life and reduce the frequency and severity of their behaviours.
Increasing knowledge and understanding supports confidence and competence in our teams to safely and effectively manage behaviours, improving quality of life for the people we support and minimise risks.
When I have my key worker session with my support worker, she is very helpful and supportive. She gives me good advice and listens to me a lot. She is very positive towards my progress and development. I feel reassured and it is good when someone listens to you. She shows she cares.
If you know someone who would benefit from our person-centred support as they work towards a more independent future, please email us.
