Our commitment to excellence
Everything we do to help the people we support is underpinned by our fully audited and regularly reviewed core processes.
By quality auditing our different services together with monitoring and reviewing our ways of working, we are able to demonstrate our provision of highly personalised and independent supported living options across the whole care and support pathway. This provides the people we support, their families, commissioning authorities and regulatory bodies with the reassurance they need and require.
Our ‘People We Support’ Involvement Project
Central to our commitment to a person-centred approach, Aspirations uses an integrated governance approach to manage and direct quality within the organisation. A series of committees meet either monthly or quarterly (depending upon their function) and report into an Integrated Governance Meeting held quarterly by the Senior Management Team.
External oversight is provided by a quarterly Review Board (Quality Council) made up of people we support, carers, leaders across Aspirations and members of the board. Best practice and learning from events is shared through group supervision meetings. We also share quality data on trends, health and safety updates, updates from our regulator, CQC, and share example case studies from around the organisation through monthly updates.
Our ‘Experts by Experience’ Programme
To feed our audit process, we have also developed an ‘Expert by Experience’ programme. This enables any people we support who are interested, to work alongside members of the quality team and specially-trained support workers. They accompany them to visit services and speak with staff and those we support about how the service meets peoples’ needs. This information then feeds into audits in respect of those services.
The Outcomes Star measures and supports progress towards self-reliance or other goals for the people we support. The Stars are designed to be completed collaboratively as an integral part of keywork. Each point on the star relates to a scale of expected attitudes and behaviours.
