Our Approach to Housing & Support

We're committed to finding the right housing solutions that promote independence, choice, and quality of life for the people we support.

Supporting independent living

We have supported many people to move into their own home, enabling more choice, control, and independence in a person’s life. We support people in their own homes along with trusted specialist supported housing partners, where the people we support live in shared houses or self-contained apartments, or houses as tenants.

Bespoke accommodation development

We work with trusted property developers and Registered Housing Providers to secure the right accommodation for each person we support; this can often mean new build bespoke accommodation designed brick by brick to meet people’s needs, now and in the future, in people’s own communities.

The Real Tenancy Test

REACH standards and tenancy support

Our approach to support and the collaborative way in which we work to find housing solutions for people, is strongly underpinned by the REACH Standards. We work with housing providers and people we support to apply for, and maintain, their tenancy. We ensure all tenancies are in-line with the 5-key standards of the ‘Real Tenancy Test’ (NDTI).

Support for Living

The Reach Standards are recognised and highly valued by providers and regulators across the UK. The 9 standards are:

I choose who I live with

I choose where I live

I have my own home (with a tenancy or ownership)

I choose who supports me and how I am supported

I choose my friends and my relationships

I get help to make changes in my life

I choose how to be healthy and safe

I choose how I am part of the community

I have the same rights and responsibilities as other citizens

Service level agreements and safeguarding

We have service level agreements in place between partners, to ensure contractual obligations are in place to safeguard all parties and the people we support. This follows guidance from the Regulator of Social Housing, National Housing Standards and Local Government Associations.

Independent care and housing provision

In-line with best practice we ensure care/support and housing are provided independently of one another, and delivered as outlined in provider guidance, including ‘Housing with Care’ (2015), ‘Building the right Support’ (2015), ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ (2022).
